PRIVACY POLICY
Your information.
Handled with care.
Target Advisory Pty Ltd (ACN 696 453 602). Updated 12 September 2026. This policy explains information collected through our website, enquiries and the start of an accounting relationship. Your engagement also identifies the records, permissions and service providers relevant to professional work.
COLLECTION & PURPOSE
What we collect and why.
When you enquire, we collect the contact details, business structure, service needs and message you provide so we can respond and assess fit. You may contact us with a general question without supplying a full business file. We need sufficient identifying details before accepting a professional engagement.
Our website also processes technical and usage information such as browser/device information, pages visited, referral sources and identifiers used by cookies or analytics. We use this to operate and protect the site and understand which pages and enquiries are useful. We do not need tax returns or identity documents to measure a website enquiry.
Once engaged, the information required depends on your scope and can include identity and contact records, financial transactions, tax information and information you authorise us to obtain from other advisers or relevant authorities. We explain the required records during onboarding.
WHO MAY PROCESS INFORMATION
Website providers and overseas processing.
This website uses WordPress.com/Automattic for hosting and enquiry forms, Google Analytics for usage measurement, and Calendly when you choose to book a meeting. These providers process information under their own terms and may use infrastructure, support or subprocessors outside Australia, including in the United States and other countries identified in their current provider disclosures. The location of every website visitor’s processing is not fixed by us.
See Automattic’s privacy notice, Google’s privacy policy and Calendly’s privacy notice. When a professional service uses Xero or another provider, we identify relevant access and disclosure arrangements during engagement.
We may share relevant information with personnel and service providers needed to deliver the agreed service, authorised advisers or authorities where you authorise it or the law requires it. Submitting an enquiry does not give blanket permission to put your financial records into an AI tool.
PROFESSIONAL CONFIDENTIALITY
Automation, AI and your records.
We may use rules, connected software and AI assistance for routine tasks or drafts within a reviewed workflow. An accountant remains responsible for professional judgement and review. Before disclosing client information to third-party tools, we obtain the required authority and assess the relevant access, use, storage and confidentiality arrangements.
Use the secure records-sharing method agreed with your accountant. Do not submit TFNs, passwords, identity documents or financial files through the website enquiry form. Ask us which providers and locations are relevant to your engagement before supplying records if you have concerns.
YOUR CHOICES
Cookies and contact preferences.
You can control or delete cookies through your browser and use the privacy controls made available by relevant providers. Restricting cookies may affect some website or booking functions. External sites have their own privacy policies.
We use an enquiry to respond to the request. Any newsletter subscription is separate. You can ask us to stop marketing contact or use an unsubscribe option where one is supplied. Service communications about an active engagement are handled separately.
MANAGING YOUR INFORMATION
Security, retention, access and correction.
We use appropriate administrative and technical safeguards for the information we handle, limit access to the people and providers who need it, and retain information for service, legal, regulatory and record-keeping purposes. Retention depends on the type of record and applicable obligations; we do not promise immediate deletion where a record must be kept. No online system can guarantee absolute security.
You can ask what personal information we hold about you and request access or correction by contacting us below. We may need to verify your identity securely and will explain any legal restriction or reason we cannot fulfil a request.

We aim to acknowledge privacy concerns within five business days and respond within 30 days, or explain if more time is needed. If the matter remains unresolved, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner about available complaint options.
